TLC/HPTLC

Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) is a well-known technique in laboratories for ages. It can be performed in a very easy way without the need for advanced equipment. Samples can be attached by hand to the TLC-plate. Separation is performed in a development chamber by using a mobile phase. Plate is dryed and evaluated by human eye or in a chamber under UV-light. Sometmes a derivatisation step is needed in-between.

HPTLC is an entire concept that includes a widely standardized methodology based on scientific facts as well as the use of validated methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis. HPTLC meets all quality requirements of today’s analytical labs, even in a fully regulated environment. As opposed to other separation techniques, the inital costs for an HPTLC system as well as maintenance, and costs per sample are comparatively low. The possibility of visual evaluation of separated samples on the plate is one of the most valuable aspects of TLC. It reaches a completely new dimension in HPTLC through the use of state-of-the-art techniques for generating and evaluating digital images.

Fully automated sample analysis and evaluation system using HPTLC plates (20 x 10 cm). The HPTLC PRO SYSTEM (patented technology) is best suited for routine quality control of analytes extracted from complex matrices, providing reproducible and reliable results. It supports up to 75 samples, up to five plates, and up to three independent developing solvents without intervention. The possibility of derivatization, MS coupling, and plate storage are included.
