Intuvo uses an efficient direct heating system that requires less than half the electrical power of a conventional GC while also significantly reducing the heat energy emitted back into the lab. This not only reduces electrical power consumption and costs, but also considerably reduces the demand on lab HVAC systems.

Ferrule-free Connections

Leaks due to improper ferrule connection are a leading cause of unplanned downtime, costing labs time and money. By coupling two planar face seals together with a torque driver, we can ensure exactly the right tightness for a leak-free seal. The click of the torque driver is an audible and tactile indicator of proper connection without the second guessing, overtightening, or leaks associated with ferrules and wrenches.

Eliminate Column Trimming

The Intuvo Guard Chip saves time by eliminating the need for column trimming. The power of a guard column is harnessed in an innovative metal microfluidic chip. Integrated HPLC and UHPLC Systems

    For more than three decades JASCO analytical HPLC pumps have employed an asymmetric twin-piston solvent delivery system SSQD (Slow Suction, Quick Delivery) which provides significantly better flow and pressure profiles than other conventional twin-piston reciprocating designs.   • Method Development

    The range of separation columns becoming increasingly diverse – the traditional 5μm fully porous particle is finally losing ground to some of the newer technologies such as the new superficially porous solid core (Coreshell) particles. Requirements for method development are becoming more demanding and time consuming. For method development the columns ovens can accommodate up to 6 or 10 analytical  columns with automatic switching, and 6 or 10 solvent selection valves, controlled by the ChromNAV Method Development Module.
  • Compact and Easy to Use

    The footprint of the LC-4000 Series HPLC is only 30cm – requiring only a very small amount of bench space. For easy maintenance, all LC-4000 instruments feature front-panel access for replacing consumables such as pump components and light sources. The autosampler consumables such as the syringe parts are easy to access.
  • Front Panel Control

    For users requiring front-panel control, the LC-4000 Series retains a keypad and backlit LED display. Keypad control can still be configured for convenient override when under PC control.

  • Configuration

    The unique expansion bays in the pump base can be fitted with plug-in modules to quickly transform a simple isocratic pumping system into a multi-solvent delivery system. Install a second pump (with dynamic mixer) for binary gradients or a quaternary low pressure mixing gradient unit (four solvent), either can be configured with an optional low volume vacuum degasser.  A 6 – or 10 solvent selection valve can be added for method development.

  • Control

    The PU-4000 Series pumps are normally used as part of a complete HPLC system, however for applications that require stand-alone operation, each instrument has its own keypad and can be controlled using an RS232 protocol and/or contact closures (TTL) to start and stop the pump.

  • Flexible autosampler

    The AS-4150 autosampler has capacity for up to 180 – 2 mL samples and includes full or variable loop injections. The sample pre-load feature eliminates sample loading time between injections for the fastest sample cycle time to get results faster.

PU-4380 COPump

The PU-4380-CO2 Peltier temperature stabilized pump ensures the optimum conditions for pumping liquid CO2, there is no requirement for complicated pretreatment of CO2 and a chiller is not required for cooling the pump heads. Automatic stop valves control the input and output of CO2.

Method Development
With up to 2 modifier pumps and 6 or 10 solvent selection units, modifier selection is very flexible and enables rapid screening of a range of columns using different solvent conditions completely automatically. The SFC-4000 has an option for up to 3 column ovens each with up to 10 full sized columns with separate temperature control, great for combining chiral and achiral SFC in a single system.

Take advantage of the MD-4010 PDA detector combined with the CD-4095 chiral detector to work up fast analytical methods for direct scale-up to semi-prep and prep separations.

The system is optimized for 10mm and 20mm ID columns. The open-bed fraction collector can be triggered on time, threshold or slope based on signals from up to 4 different detectors signals including UV, PDA, fluorescence, CD and/or MS. The macro cyclone separators provide simple gas-liquid separation for excellent fraction recoveries typically greater than 95%. Application

The samples are applied as bands onto the HPTLC glass plate (20 x 10 cm) with the HPTLC PRO Module APPLICATION. Up to 75 samples can be applied autonomously. Precision of the applied volume, exact positioning and sharpness of applied zones determine the quality of the final result.

Development

The HPTLC PRO Module DEVELOPMENT, using HPTLC glass plates (20 x 10 cm), operates completely autonomously. The activity of the stationary phase can be adjusted, and the gas phase can be actively circulated during development (conditioning, regeneration), allowing a better separation of the analytes.

Derivatization

Substances without chromophores or fluorophores can be visualized by automated spraying of specific reagents onto the HPTLC glass plates (20 x 10 cm) with the HPTLC PRO Module DERIVATIZATION, controlled by the HPTLC Software visionCATS. The module features an integrated plate heating unit.

Detection

Hyperspectral data, acquired with the HPTLC PRO Module DETECTION, are used to characterize and quantify all analytes. They are obtained by using polychromatic light or specific LEDs for excitation together with an imaging spectrometer. The HPTLC Software visionCATS is used for data evaluation.

MS-Interface

HPTLC-MS coupling allows for verification of the chemical structure of analytes by Mass Spectrometry or offline collection for further analysis. Any position on the plate can be selected via the HPTLC Software visionCATS to be automatically eluted with the HPTLC PRO Module MS-INTERFACE.

Plate Storage

This Module is required to run multiple plates with the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM autonomously. It consists of two closed compartments, one holding up to five new HPTLC glass plates and one up to five finished plates.

It can be done manuallyor semi-automatet with with Nanomat 4 or Linomat 5. Fully automatic with ATS 4 autosampler.

Chromatogram Development

The mobile phase is drawn through the stationary phase by capillary action. Samples are separated into their components which remain in their position on the layer after the mobile phase has been evaporated. Chromatography is affected by the gas phase in the chromatographic chamber.

Derivatization

Substances without chromophores or color can be visualized or made detectable through derivatization. The required reagents are transferred onto the chromatogram by spaying or immersion.

Chromatogram Evaluation

The chromatogram is evaluated under white or ultraviolet light. Options range from visual inspection of electronic images to quantitative determinations using scanning densitometry. For documentation electronic images are easy to capture and to archive. They can be reproduced on screen without changes over time and thus compared with current images. TLC-MS and bioluminescence expand the capability of TLC.

Visualizer

For electronic image acquisition the camera – like the human eye – captures polychromatic visible light. Under white light illumination it is the light reflected from the layer background. Under long-wavelength UV light (366 nm) it is the light emitted by fluorescent substances. When short-wavelength UV light (254 nm) is used, substances absorbing UV 254 nm appear as dark zones, provided the layer contains a fluorescence indicator (fluorescence quenching). The TLC Visualizer 2 is CAMAG’s imaging and documentation system operated with visionCATS. visionCATS enables an image-based evaluation of chromatograms for quantitative evaluation. The strength of the electronic image acquisition is the overview of the complete chromatogram.

TLC Scanner 4

 The spectral range of the CAMAG TLC Scanner 4 is 190–900 nm. Reflected light is measured either in the absorbance or in the fluorescence mode. From the acquired data quantitative results are computed with high precision and spectral selectivity.
With the TLC Scanner 4 absorption spectra can be recorded. The strengths of classical densitometry as compared with image evaluation are spectral selectivity and the higher precision of quantitative determinations.

TLC- MS-Interface

Through the pioneering concept of hyphenating High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry unequivocal substance identification is possible. The CAMAG TLC-MS Interface 2 can be installed plug & play with any LC-MS system without adjustments or mass spectrometer modifications. Depending on the MS system, a substance can be identified within a minute via its mass spectrum, or for an unknown substance zone, the respective sum formula can be obtained. Furthermore, interesting zones can be eluted into vials for further investigations with, e.g., NMR, (ATR-)FTIR, ESI-MS, and MALDI-MS.

The Agilent 8255 Nitrogen Chemiluminescence Detector (NCD) is a nitrogen-specific detector that produces a linear and equimolar response to nitrogen compounds.   • Configuration

    The unique expansion bays in the pump base can be fitted with plug-in modules to quickly transform a simple isocratic pumping system into a multi-solvent delivery system. Install a second pump (with dynamic mixer) for binary gradients or a quaternary low pressure mixing gradient unit (four solvent), either can be configured with an optional low volume vacuum degasser.  A 6 – or 10 solvent selection valve can be added for method development.
  • Control

    The PU-4000 Series pumps are normally used as part of a complete HPLC system, however for applications that require stand-alone operation, each instrument has its own keypad and can be controlled using an RS232 protocol and/or contact closures (TTL) to start and stop the pump.

Spectral Scanning and Dual Wavelength Detection

Both detectors include dual-wavelength data acquisition (up to 100Hz for UHPLC) and spectral scanning. Spectral scanning can be executed automatically in ChromNAV CDS, by time or by height when a peak exceeds a set threshold.

Dual Wavelength Measurement

Both detectors can be used for simultaneous detection at two wavelength pairs; excitation and emission wavelengths can be changed during the acquisition using a time program and automatic spectra scanning can be triggered manually, by time or automatically by threshold. A built-in mercury lamp enables automatic wavelength correction and the front-access design allows easy replacement of the flow cell assembly and light source.

Excitation and emission spectra can be scanned using ChromNAV chromatography data system and can be set to operate, manually, at a specified time or using a threshold trigger.

Refractive Index (RI)

Unmatched sensitivity and stability

The RI-4030/35 refractive index detectors include an optical system mounted in a precise temperature-regulated housing to eliminate the influence of changes in ambient temperature. Both detectors are fully stable just one hour after powering on.

The RI-4030 can be used for analytical and preparative scales. For preparative separations, the maximum flow rate is 120 ml/min.

The RI-4035 is a dedicated semi-micro RI detector with a micro-volume flow cell designed for use with fast semi-micro GPC analysis using columns with a fine pore size.The RI-4035 is a dedicated semi-micro RI detector with a micro-volume flow cell designed for use with fast semi-micro GPC analysis using columns with a fine pore size.

The 100Hz data acquisition rate makes the RI-4035 suitable for RHPLC and UHPLC separations. The LED light source in both detectors has a long lifetime (over 10,000 hours) for low maintenance. Optically active compounds with a chromophore close to a chiral center may absorb circularly polarized light, which can be detected with excellent sensitivity and selectivity. When chiral compounds are measured using a UV-Visible detector, the d- and l- enantiomers cannot be distinguished even when separated by a chiral column, however the  CD-4095 CD detector makes it possible to positively distinguish between the d- and l- enantiomers by measuring their positive and negative peaks. The OR-4090 chiral detector measures the angle of rotation of plane polarized light caused by optical active isomers and is useful for chiral compounds with no absorption. The LC-4000 Series HPLC column ovens have been designed to provide excellent utility for a wide range of different user requirements.

All HPLC column ovens have built-in electronic cooling for controlling column temperature at sub-ambient temperatures. The CO-4062 and CO-4061 block-heater type ovens can be fitted with an optional micro-volume pre-heating unit for pre- heating the mobile phase before the column to improve resolution and peak shape.

ChromNAV-FC offers control for two different capacity fraction collectors, with advanced fractionation algorithms for peak collection, using time, threshold and slope, and can even be programmed to use data collected simultaneously from multiple detectors such as UV-visible, refractive index or circular dichroism. Fraction simulation uses an acquired chromatogram to develop the fraction collection parameters and the graphical display can be used to locate peaks of interest in the fraction collector tray.

ChromNAV-FC also supports additional functions for prep-HPLC applications, including automatic multi-channel fractions, fraction repeat and fraction re-cycle.
